ABOUT US

                      Potterne Cricket Club Logo

We are a thriving village cricket club in the centre of Wiltshire.  We have existed for nearly 75 years and pride ourselves on being a very friendly sociable place to play cricket.  Our history can be viewed at the bottom of the 'Home' page of this website.

We currently run 4 Senior Saturday XI's - the 1st XI play in the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Division of the West of England Premier League and our 2nd XI play in the equivalent 2nd XI League.  Our 3rd and 4th X1's play in the Wiltshire Cricket League.  We also run a regular Sunday Friendly XI.

We also have a thriving Youth section with sides at U15, U13, U11 and U9 level, as well two sides for girls at U13 and U16 levels.  All of our coaching staff have been CRB checked and we have two UKCC3,4 UKCC Club Coaches, eight UKCC2 and seven UKCC Level 1 coaches helping to run our Youth section.  We also possess, as a Club, the prestigious 'ECB Clubmark' award - a sign that our club has been audited, inspected and approved as a safe, child-friendly and effective place to learn the game of cricket.  We are also one of 16 ECB Focus Clubs in the County - an acknowledgement that we are helping the Cricket Board deliver excellence in cricket coaching and provision of opportunity for junior cricketers.

Aside from all this we have a very active fund-raising committee which enables us to raise around £15,000.00 per year from fund-raising efforts and sponsorship, including Sponsored Walks, Quiz Nights, Six-a-side tournaments, Race Nights, Cheese & Wine parties, Fantasy Cricket and a 200's Club.  This enables us to ensure that our facilities are continually upgraded - indeed we have just purchased a new mower and we are improving our access driveway and are adding some Umpires/Girls changing rooms to our pavilion this Winter.

If you are interested in being involved at our Club in any way - as a player, parent, junior member or sponsor, please get in touch - you would be made very welcome.  Please either contact the relevant person from the 'Contacts' section of this site or just e-mail to graham@gaigerbros.co.uk in the first instance.

We look forward to hearing from you!
